2. Hacksaw Ridge (2016)

3. Defiance  (2008)

They saved 1200 lives by hiding in the forest, which they knew very well, against the Nazies who were murdering Jews. They build a village to protect themselves and about one thousand Jewish non-combatants. The story of their survival is heart wrenching to watch and that makes it one of the best war movies.

4. Lone Survivor  (2013)

Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster

Overview: Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) and his team Michael Murphy (Taylor Kitsch), Danny Dietz (Emile Hirsch), and Matthew Axelson (Ben Foster), are on a mission in Afghanistan to take out the Taliban leader Ahmad Shah in 2005. Nobody knows they are here, but they are spotted by the locals, who inform the Taliban fighters about them.
